Grey may be my new color…

For a while now I’ve always thought that I looked best in blue and that brown looked best on the hanger. I’ve always clung to blue and brown in my wardrobe and never really gave grey a second look. That was until I bougt a grey three-piece suit on eBay a few months ago. I bought it because it looked charcoal in the picture and even though the size was iffy, I picked it up for under $30. $150 at the tailor later…a suit is born. My first true grey suit. I have a charcoal suit but I never had anything lighter than that. When this suit came in I noticed it was quite light and it was pinstriped (which I knew before I bought it).
So since then I’ve picked up a NOS (new old stock) Anderson Little two-piece number that has a heathered grey look about it and two glen-plaid suits; one new from Henry Jacobson and one Anderson Little suit from a thrift shop. Both are waiting to be tailored. The Henry Jacobson number I got for less than $100 but is slightly long and slightly big in the chest so my tailor might have to work some magic on that one. The AL suit is just in line to get to the tailors. Its next in line though. Here are a couple pictures of those two grey suits. Overall, I’m pretty happy with them. I’m trying a new knot on the tie and in a slight homage to Gianni Agnelli although I think he went to the right versus the left…and you’ll never see my watch on the cuff of my shirt. Mostly because I don’t wear a watch but still…

The top picture looks like you just pumped yourself full of heroin, the bottom picture looks like you’re pissed off from just getting back from your Narcotics Anonymous meeting.

Oh yeah, and nice suits, I like the pinstripe more.
