I only assume he’s a small role but I still want to know why he is in this film.
Simple answer. He auditioned and then got the part.

I wish I had more interesting things to write about, but I just don’t. I have to start doing things. I might start writing again. Some friends of mine were talking about doing some comedy writing and then maybe filming it. One of the most frustrating things ever is when people say “yeah, we’ll have to do this or that” and then they never follow through on it. Sometimes I think they never intend on following through at all and don’t seem to mind wasting other people’s time. I’m going to make sure I don’t do that. I really think we will go forward with this project.
I like to think that I’m a no-nonsense guy. I don’t associate with people I don’t like, I don’t do things I’m not interested in, and I don’t make needless conversation. I get to the point and I try to be as efficient as possible. I don’t have time to worry about the inconsequential things, there is honest to goodness business to tend to, things that require proper effort. I just haven’t the time for sophomoric bullshit.
I don’t know where I’m going with this but I really am ready for a change; ready for something to happen. I’ve mentioned that I’m within 6 months of my 25th birthday and I’m really not “ok” with that. I feel like I haven’t really done anything with my life, and what’s worse is, I don’t even know what I could do that would make me feel otherwise. People are getting married, having children, buying houses, and dieing, and I’m not really doing much of anything. Now, I don’t want to do any of those things any time soon, but it would be nice if I were halfway to someplace. I keep waiting for either something to happen or something to direct me to a new corner of the universe and it never does. I just keep on this path of the boring, pedantic, typical life of a suburban white kid from New England who went to college, studied, and got a job. I wish people would stop taking me seriously, because serous is something I’ve never wanted to be.

I’ve decided on this new layout because the old one was, well, old. I hope you like it, but if you don’t, sod off. Although, all the links are now located at the bottom of the page, which I don’t care for. We’ll see if it sticks.
I’m going to be back complaining sometime this week and then I’ll be off for a week or so for a conference-type thing.
Until then.

Although you all may know me as a bit of a dandy who takes pride in what he wears and drives a prissy English car, I also have an alter-ego. I am a furious biker who doesn’t mess around! I ride a mean Harley Davidson and I like to think that I embody a lot of the original biker mentality. I’m not into violent and destructive behavior, but I do dig rallies, hot chicks, loud pipes, and tattoos. So, its about time to take the scoot out of the garage and get it ready for riding and I encourage you all to do the same. Some of my friends ride, but not hardly enough. So what are you waiting for…enjoy this video while you wait for your licence to come in and maybe someday we’ll be brothers for life, as Hell’s Angels or something.
PS: This is exactly why I ride a Harley…

Movies I have seen lately:
Drillbit Taylor – Crap, funny here and there, but still really quite bad. Only worth the $5 bargain Tuesday admission price if one sneaks in snacks and drink, otherwise, don’t bother.
21 – Not as Crap as Drillbit Taylor, but still pretty Crap. It took a really long time to get moving and it was predictable the entire time. Save yourself some money and just watch the trailer; that’s exactly what happens in the movie. The only endearing quality is that for a time, the main character works at J. Press in Harvard Square.
Wilby Wonderful – Really quite good, worth the free rental from the library. A Canadian indie flick with Sandra Oh and Ellen Page, among other Canadian actors I didn’t recognize. It was fresh and funny and I love how Canucks pronounce words like out (oot), ass-hole (arse-hole), and oh-yeh, (hard to spell phonetically).
I look forward to seeing The Grand when it comes out. At one time I followed professional poker on television and played in a weekly game and this movie just looks like it would be funny. Speaking of that, I was asked to join a high-stakes poker game this Friday. I haven’t decided whether or not I’m going but it was nice to be invited. Note to my friends: we should start up our weekly game again, it would make my life at least a little better.
I’ve been watching old TV shows lately on the Internets and I highly recommend the Trailer Park Boys, which I just finished, My So Called Life, which I’m about to, and Freaks and Geeks, which I’m knee deep in right now.
Books…I’m trying to start on a list of books I’ve bought and never read. I’ll post at a later date and you can all make fun of me or send me your recommendations.

Putting aside the fact that I myself may have Asperger syndrome, I don’t know nearly enough about Autism. I think that probably goes without saying for most people, especially if they aren’t in the field. I have been half-following Jenny McCarthy’s coverage in the media regarding Autism and how her son allegedly was cured of his autism by eating fruit and exercising. She has also accused the medical profession of all sorts of bizarre misdoings and has stated firmly that she believes that Autism is caused by the vaccine for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR). Now I don’t have any professional training in the medical field, nor am I qualified to speak on the matter, however, my feathers get ruffled when people accuse the medical or scientific community of unethical or malicious behavior and further of conspiracy or fraud.
Jenny McCarthy wrote a letter with Jim Carey that was published this morning on the front page of CNN.com. I had seen her on a tv show (Oprah maybe) where she discussed her son who is now 5 years old. She stated her claims that he was fine and then when he was vaccinated he became Autistic and now he isn’t anymore because she put him on a high-fruit diet and he exercised a lot. That is an oversimplified explanation of her claims, but it essentially sums it up. There are doctors who comment that her son may never have actually been autistic to begin with, but there opinions and statements have been dismissed by experts like Oprah, Jim Carey, and Ms. McCarthy. There are two parts to this interview so you could watch both if you can tolerate that much Oprah and God references.
My sister is a better person than I for a number of good reasons, one of which is that she makes a living helping people with disabilities and I don’t. She does what I consider an impossible job for what I consider to be far less pay than someone doing said job deserves, and since the community is partly funded by the state of Rhode Island, it is in imminent danger of losing the funding essential to its operation. She works with people everyday that have Autism and when she isn’t at work, she is still helping people who need it most. I’ll have to ask her for her opinions on this issue and report back.
Until then, I am forced to turn to the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) for their insight. The NEJM is one of the most widely-read peer-reviewed general medical journals and is also the oldest continuously published medical journal in the world. It is considered by me to be a good source for knowledge in the field of medicine and science. So I read this article on some of the research that has been done on the possibility of a link between vaccines and Autism. The journal article, published in 2002, concludes that there is strong evidence against the hypothesis that there is a link between the two.
I don’t mean to crap on Jenny McCarthy, Jim Carey, or Oprah, actually I do mean to crap on Oprah, but it just seems like people sometimes have these ideas that they just can’t let go of. It almost sounds like those conspiracy theorists who will not change their minds no matter what evidence they are given to the contrary of their hair-brained ideas. Everyone in the medical community says there is no link, its just coincidence, but these people still believe this link is there and aren’t willing to change their minds. Another thing about this woman is that she credits God entirely too much for my comfort, and the way she tells her story is a bit too much as well. She tells a story and writes like it is understood by all that the almighty has chosen her to do this and it goes without saying that He has this master plan for her. It makes me feel like I’m not part of the club or something when people talk like this. If you ever watch Oprah, the View, or any other daytime show, they reference God like he’s an actual person and he’s sitting in the room.
I understand that she is probably the first woman to ever give birth to another human being and she is also the first parent in the world to have an Autistic child, but seriously, enough with the over-dramatic fear-mongering, I just can’t stand it.
I’m still not sure how I feel about Autism. But I do know that Jenny McCarthy is annoying, she embodies everything I despise about the entertainment industry, and she confirms my hatred for celebrities.
